Counseling

 Counseling and psychotherapy assists individuals and families in identifying and remediating symptoms of mental, emotional and behavioral disorders that prevent or significantly hinder physical, mental, emotional, spiritual, relationship and work functioning.   

Medication

Therapeutic Preschool

Therapeutic Preschool benefits serious emotionally disturbed and developmentally delayed preschoolers. The collaboration effort is designed to meet  behavioral, emotional, and pre-academic needs of 3,4, &5 yr old children to prepare them for  the public school system.  
 

Adult Case Management

To assist individuals and families of individuals, who suffer from a severe and persistent mental disorder to remain in their home and community.  A case manager’s role includes assisting the individual by helping remove barriers to recovery, and assisting the individual in obtaining resources and services that are necessary to ensure continued individual growth. 
 

Adult Groups

Treatment Group assists individual’s with serious and persistent mental illness to alleviate social isolation, develop supportive relationships, and to learn necessary activities of daily living.  Persons are also educated about and practice basic health care, functional leisure activities, and encouraged to practice social skills in a variety of community settings.

My Family connects children to free home-based educational services that will enhance their readiness for school.

     Medication Services

To have a psychiatric professional evaluate an individual’s mental and/or emotional condition to determine if medications may assist in treating a problem or illness. 

Child Case Management

To work in the home and community to assist children/adolescents and families of children/adolescents with serious emotional disorders to remain in their home community and to participate in society. 

Vocational Assistance

To assist individual’s with significant impairments and/or disabilities in obtaining and maintaining competitive employment. 

Substance Use Counseling

To help individuals and families suffering from the effects of substance abuse or dependence.  The goals are recovery of physical, mental, emotional, social, work, family, and spiritual functioning. 
 

Parenting in Divorce

To reduce parental conflict around co-parenting after divorce and the subsequent negative consequences to children. Classes are for the parents and the focus is on ways divorce can impact children emotionally and psychologically. 

Batterer's Intervention Program (BIP)

Batterer's Intervention Program is a program that treats individuals convicted of domestic violence. The mission of the BIP in Kansas is to hold batterer's accountable, create non-violent behavior and promote safety for victims. For more information please call 620-848-2300.

     Children's Groups

 Psycho-Social Rehabilitation after-school and summer groups are research-based treatment programs designed  to instill attitudes and behaviors in young people with serious emotional disorders that will allow them to find their path to successful functioning.  
 

Juvenile Intake

JIAS provides assistance to Law Enforcement Officers who are dealing with Children in Need of Care (CINC) and Juvenile Offenders (JO).  When a child is placed in police protective custody a recommendation for placement is made to the law enforcement officer. The JIAS officer secures that placement. 

Parent Support

 Parent Support is provided to assist parents/guardians of children with serious emotional disturbance to manage the many stresses involved in that role and to access resources needed for their child to be able to function in the family and society.

We provide psychological evaluations, police employment evaluations and DUI evaluations. Please call the office for more specific information on each evaluation. 

Autism Assessments

This service is open to anyone needing an autism assessment. You do not have to live within Cherokee County, KS to have this assessment done. This service does not require a physician's referral.
